I have prepared this article sometime ago, but didn't published it waiting for the locust season. Unfortunately, according to Locust Watch of FAO the Desert Locust situation in Saudi Arabia is currently calm as has been for quite sometime. Why Saudi Arabia? Because particularly in Buraydah, the capital of Al-Qassim, the northern central region, locust is a delicacy and sold in the local market for a premium. A small bag can be sold for 350 Saudi Riyals ($93) and a big bag can reach 7,000 Saudi Riyal ($1,870). Such delicacy is not restricted to Saudi Arabia, but is all over the world, even at French chocolatiere and Japanese restaurants. Locust is believed to cure rheumatism, back pain, and pediatric hormone growth deficiency, in addition to strengthening the immune system and treating diabetes and colon problems.

كنت قد أعدت هذه المقالة منذ زمن، ولم أنشرها لأنني كنت انتظر موسم الجراد. وللأسف تقارير مراقبة الجراد تقارير مراقبة الجراد وفق منظمة الأغذية والزراعة العالمية، تشير إلى هدوء حالة الجراد الصحراوي حاليا في السعودية كما هو الحال منذ مدة. لماذا السعودية؟ لأنه وخاصة في بريدة، عاصمة منطقة القصيم في الجزء الشمالي الأوسط من المملكة، يعتبر الجراد من الأطايب ويباع في السوق الشعبية باسعار مرتفعة. إذ يصل سعر الكيس الصغير إلى 350 ريالا (93 دولار)، ويمكن ان يصل سعر الكيس الكبير الى 7 آلاف ريال (1,870 دولار). وهذه الأطايب لا تقتصر على السعودية، فهي في جميع أنحاء العالم، حتى في محلات الشوكولاتير الفرنسية والمطاعم اليابانية. وهناك اعتقاد بأن الجراد هو علاج للروماتيزم وآلام الظهر ونقص نمو هرمون الأطفال إضافة إلى تعزيز جهاز المناعة وعلاج مرض السكري ومشاكل القولون.

The origin of the tree is traced to Seychelles islands.

A self-sufficient city accommodating 50,000 inhabitants floats across oceans.

Did all this vast land become so crowded? So they started thinking about building floating cities in the oceans? Do you remember the "Luxury Floating Villas on Sale in Dubai", that I wrote about? Now, here are floating cities and villages roam oceans or anchored at specific locations. Though I haven't yet received any sales promotion of such properties in such cities, but I expect that to happen by real estate developers who are bombarding me with ads for apartments and villas in different countries.
