الجماع في الطيور، بدون قضيب ذكري ولا مهبل، وإنما بقبلة بالمذرق لعدة ثواني فقط!

In humans, of course not. In birds, yes! But not through beak's kiss, beaks are not suitable for kissing anyway. Then, how? Before answering how, do you know the answer of the following questions? Do roaster have phallus? Do a chicken have vaginas? Do you know what "Cloaca Kiss" is? Do you know what a "Chick Sexer" job is? I bombarded a friend with these questions. He was bewildered when I told him that 97% of almost 10,000 bird species males have no penises and females have no vaginas. They have only one common orifice called the cloaca, (also called the vent) that serves as the opening for the digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems.

في البشر هذا مستحيل، أما في الطيور فنعم! ولكن ليس بقبلة بالمنقار، فالمنقار على كل الأحوال لا يصلح للقبل. إذا كيف؟ قبل الإجابة على هذا السؤال هل تعرفون إجابة للأسئلة التالية؟ هل للديك قضيب ذكري؟ وهل للدجاجة عضو أنثوي؟ هل تعرفون ماهي "قبلة المذرق"؟ هل تعرفون ماهي وظيفة "فارز جنس الصيصان"؟ أمطرت صديقا لي بهذه الأسئلة. فأصابه الذهول عندما قلت له بأن 97٪ تقريبا من 10 آلاف نوع من الطيور ليس لذكورها قضيب وليس لإناثها مهبل. وأنما لديها فقط فتحة واحدة مشتركة تسمى المذرق (البعض يسميها مبرز أو مجرور) وهي تخدم كفتحة خروج للجهاز الهضمي والجهاز البولي والجهاز التناسلي في نفس الوقت.

To mate, male bird balances on top of the female. The female moves her tail aside to expose her cloaca, and male will arch his body so his cloaca kisses hers to transfer the sperms. The brief Cloaca Kiss lasts 1-3 seconds and mating is complete. Copulation can happen hundreds of times a day. With birds, it's generally not about quality, it's about quantity. Only around 3 percent of the birds have penises. These include ducks, geese and swans, and large flightless birds like ostriches and emus. But eagles, flamingos, penguins and albatrosses have completely lost their penises. So have wrens, gulls, cranes, owls, pigeons, hummingbirds and woodpeckers.

عند الجماع يتوازن الطير الذكر فوق الأنثى. فتحرك الأنثى ذيلها جانبا لكشف مذرقها، ويقوم الذكر بتقويس جسده حتى يقوم مذرقه بتقبيل مذرقها لنقل الحيوانات المنوية إليه. وتستغرق قبلة المذرق فقط مابين ثانية إلى ثلاث ثواني وينتهي الجماع. ويمكن أن يحدث التقبيل مئات المرات في اليوم الواحد. فعند الطيور عموما موضوع الجماع ليس موضوع جودة، وإنما موضوع كمية. وهناك فقط حوالي 3 في المئة من الطيور لذكورها قضيب. وذلك يشمل البط والأوز والبجع والطيور الكبيرة التي لا تطير مثل النعام والإيمو. لكن النسور وطيور النحام (فلامينغو) وطيور البطريق وطيور القطرس فقدت تماما القضيب الذكري. وكذلك طيور النمنمة والنورس والكرين والبوم والحمام والطيور الطنانة ونقار الخشب.

Now to the question of "Chick Sexer" job.

والآن إلى سؤال ماهية وظيفة "فارز جنس الصيصان".

Chicken farms hire specialized people called "Chick Sexers", they are trained sort male and female very young age chicks. This requires examining the cloaca of the chick to locate a tiny nub. If the nub is present, then the chick is 90-95% a male. Some Chick Sexers look at chicks feather to determine their sex.

In Cassowaries both male and female birds have a phallus but it's not connected to reproductive tissue in either. When the male Cassowary its penis into the female, the semen ejaculates from the cloaca from the base, not the tip.
